SECOND LIFE

   Second Life is a web 2.0 tool based on transforming real world into virtual world. With the developments in technology, people have been trying to find out integrate real world into artificial world. There are many potential uses of the online virtual world Second life in teaching. In Second Life users are represented in the virtual world by the avatars they create. Within Second Life there is interaction between avatars, environment and objects. Second Life provides creative and collaborative learning environment for students. Students make a duplication of real world with this tool. for example, they create content that includes building, objects, other peoples, environments etc. Instructors can meet with their students in this platform. Only limitation is the learning time and technology. Creating a second life on online platform is a term that is still developed.



   Second Life has the potential to play a variety of interesting roles in the educational process and can provide a more interactive experience than the average web site or tool, but it requires more of an investment in time to learn and use than many other web-based tools require. Educational institutions across the world are finding many interesting ways to leverage Second Life, and I could spend many more weeks learning about and reporting on Education related Second Life activities there.
