Kahoot

   Kahoot is game based web 2.0 tool that can be used for education. It offers student-friendly teaching because it has a distinctive way of testing students’ knowledge. Kahoot creates a genuine learning environment by bringing teaching, game, competition, collaboration together. It is a good platform. It is a useful platform because it attracts students more than classic testing ways. The games can be played individually or as groups. Instructors prepare multi- choice questions for students which have four response options. Each option has a distinct color (blue, green, yellow, red) and shape. These questions are projected on a classroom screen. Each student connects Kahoot link with the code provided by their teacher. when they are connected to the game on their devices (e.g., smartphone, laptop, computer, tablet) they only see colorful options on the screen. They have have to choose correct one as fast as possible. Because the ranking system of Kahoot is based on both accuracy and promptness. After answering each student has to wait for the others answers as well. When everyone answers the questions, the correct answers and the number of answers given for questions are displayed at the screen. When clicked on “next” students with the highest score are seen on the screen. When the game ended, names of first three students are given at the screen.

How to create a Kahoot?

After signing/logging in click “+” bottom. Here are two options: Kahoot and course. Click “Kahoot”.

Write questions on the box of “start typing your question”. You can add images, gifs, videos, audio about your question as well.

Click “<” symbol. Here you can choose question type (quiz, true or false, type answer, puzzle, poll, word cloud, open ended), time limits (5 seconds - 4 minutes), point (standard, double, no points) answer options (single or multiple select) you can also change themes.

At the bottom there are options. Write options.

If you want add another question there is “add question” button at the left side of the page.
